Strange grips for M14-3

I came across a M14-3, ANIB, however, the grips look strange. Do you think that the left grip was modified?

It looks like the “football” speedloader cut was widened and made deeper so that it is no longer a “football”.

Just my opinion, though. Happy to be corrected if wrong.

I agree. It was probably done to clear a speedloader. IIRC, the factory did produce some target stocks with a flat relief cut, but those aren’t one of them.
