Let’s do a thread on ‘different’ trades.
Had a really high end Norwegian Woodstove.
Ran an ad to sell or trade- guns.
Used to ran a lot of ads like that.
Guy calls me- will you trade for a Colt Single Action?
Come on down!
Turns out to be a hurt Black Powder Frame, reblued, rebarreled, in a Gin-U-Wine Mexican buscadera rig.
Of course I took it!
The Guy I got it From- Tomas Herrera - was a retired local Bernallillo County Deputy Sheriff.
A real character who was an extra in the movie ‘Lonesome Are the Brave.’
Starring Kirk Douglas and others. Kirk is sneaking out of town, Tomas is standing up on a big rock wearing this Colt.
He’s playing a Deputy Sheriff!

Once there was a driver going across Navaho land and picked up a walker.
Many miles of chit chat went on without a single reply, until finally the
passenger noticed a brown paper bag on the car seat.

"What's in the bag."

The driver replied, "a bottle of wine, that I got for the wife".

The passenger replied............

"Good Trade".

Picked up around 1500 hand rolled Cuban seed cigars(Columbia ,Nicaragua ,Equdor, etc.) complete with a humidor from a lady moving out of state along with her late husband's guns. I traded the cigars and humidor(I don't smoke) to another guy for 35 bottles of various brands of Single Malt Scotch!

I got in a deal once that would make your head spin. It started
out with a couple hundred lbs of lead that I poured into bullets.
I started trading bullets for all kind of stuff. It involved TVs, all
kinds of tools, chain saws, wood stoves, fishing tackle and I
don't know how many guns. This deal ran all winter. Besides
the trade goods I pocketed a few hundred bucks. Ended up with
a couple good guns and all kinds of loot. I kept track of it on
paper and it would make a CPA dizzy. One of the things I got
was a small cigar and some advice on trading from a guy who
just traded me a bunch of stuff for about 50 lbs of bullets. I
still have cigar. It's kinda dry but I was going to put it on a little
Plaque for a reminder that I needed some training on trading.

I gave some fresh venison and pork to a guy. He gave me some Tannerite and some .38 Spl ammo.

I would have given him some meat anyway, but I guess he felt like he owed me something.

One time an Elk Club Bartender heard me talking about going deer hunting.
He said he dearly loved venison, hadn’t had any forever!
I told him if me or any of my party got one, he would get some venison.
I dropped a fat Corn fed young Buck!
And gave that Bartender about 10 of venison.
After that, my money was no damn good!
I would lay it down but he wouldn’t pick it up!
