I won a Strayer-Voigt Infinity brand 1911 mainspring housing in a raffle at an IPSC match that I attended. It's flat, stainless, checkered (20 LPI). Looks to be high quality, but I'm not familiar with the brand.

I'm thinking about having it installed on my Springfield Stainless Mil-Spec, since the arched mainspring housing on the Springfield has a built-in lock....sorta like "killing two birds with one stone".

Do the Infinity parts have a good reputation?

I have a SV-I single stack 1911. It is a very fine machine indeed, CNC machined from solid. Schueman AET gain twist Barrels etc.
All of their parts are like jewelry.
It shoots as well as it looks.

Nice barrels. I didn't realize SVI used them. When I had my Delta Elite worked over I had a Schueman AET barrel put in it.

Too bad they weren't raffling off the entire pistol.

Gordy,

The lock blocks the hammer strut, thus stopping the compression of the mainspring inside of the mainspring housing. That blocks the hammer from any rearward movement and freezes the slide.

Can you reuse your same mainspring?
