Although not its intended purpose, Taccom offers a reduced-power spring that resolves an annoying situation. My S&W M&P 15-22 gets a lot of use in steel challenge matches and as NFC in IDPA (now that small pistol primers are hard to find.) With high-velocity .22 ammo of any brand it cycles perfectly. But, with CCI standard velocity and CCI "clean" sub-sonic (both at 1070 fps) the bolt frequently fails to make it all the way to the rear. This results in a stove pipe and an uncocked hammer with a round in the chamber. Aguila standard velocity (at 1130 fps) cycle okay, but Aguila sub-sonics (at 1025 fps) don't cycle at all.

Replacing the factory spring with the Taccom3 reduced-power spring takes less time than I'm taking to type this report. It corrects the situation described perfectly. The above-mentioned sub-sonics fully cycle the 15-22. I won't beat up the buffer shooting high-velocity loads. Switching back to the factory spring takes less than a minute.

I'm delighted that Taccom has made this product available.

Edit: If your 15-22 handles sub-sonics with the original spring, great. If it ain't broke . . .

I imagine this is would be a consideration for those running cans and subs. Likely a very quiet combo with the 15-22.

That is nice considering S&W won't sell the new pistol springs. Those of us with SBRs now have another option. I will pick up a few. Thanks.

With a can attached, my 15-22 Pistol runs CCI Standard velocity and Remington Subsonic reliably. Without the can the standards still run fine but the subs not so much.
