I found this video about a silenced revolver. They dealt with the cylinder gap in a very different way.

Smith and Wesson posted a video of Jerry Miculek shooting a suppressed J frame that they took out of the Smith and Wessson vault.

Heritage has been selling their suppressor ready 22/22 magnum for a couple years. The reviews are all bad. Here is one from a dealer that says they are louder to the shooter because of the blowback.

They sell them for looks, not functionality. Let Rocks and Beanie Babies sold pretty good too.

I shoot a half dozen suppressed 22s pistols and have used the 9mm as well. You really cannot suppress centerfire rounds all that quiet. What you can do is take a 38 Special with a long barrel, 6-8 inches which is about the same length as this suppressed J frame. Then load 158-200 grain bullets down to about 600 fps and have a fairly quiet round. Most 148 grain wadcutters work well also, depending on velocity. Keep in mind that the amount of powder in the case is a key factor in how loud the gun is. The little 38 short Colt that I load only uses 3 grains of powder. I need to test them in the longer barrels, I think they will be very quiet.

When you look at power and distance they are firing, the low velocity 38 wins.

Thanks. That's really interesting. That reminds me of the experimental Smith and Wesson model 29 with internally silent ammunition that was used in Vietnam. This article mentions it.

I always thought a tactical TC Contender set up with a suppressor and infrared optics would be an assassins dream. Maybe .22 Hornet?

Suppressors are for rifles, semi-auto handguns, or break action pistols. The effort and expense of suppressing a revolver are not worth the disappointing results.
But, have at it.

No cases left at the scene, exactly the reason to use a revolver.

How about the unmarked cases for international dirty work? I've read of them in the past.
