Have anybody used suppressor on the M&P15PS ? Can it be fired w/o hearing protection?

I'm planning to get this rifle soon.

I've stood next to a .308 bolt gun using a suppressor while it was fired and I wasn't wearing hearing protection. While I am sensitive to gun fire, I found it to be a pleasant experience. That being said, the quality of the suppressor is what is going to allow, or not allow, you to shoot it without hearing protection. Given it is a .223, I can't see why you couldn't get it quiet enough to shoot without protection.

I was looking at some videos yesterday where they take an adaptor screw it in place of the flash hider and screw an oil filter on it....I was supprised at how quiet that made the rifles....dont know about accuracy but sure made it quiet.

I saw the same video and wondered if you change the filter after 3000 rounds.....:D

Sorry. Too good to pass up!

Suppressed 5.56 rifles with barrels much over 9 inches are still a little loud unless you load subsonic ammo for them.
A little louder than a .22LR.

Thanks for the advice.

But I do like an actual feedback from people who have use the M&P15PS specifically with a suppressor and how it sounds.

I plan to get the YHM 7.62 Titanium for dual use.

BTW will the UTG quad rail fit M&P15PS, since it is a piston might be larger than a gas tube.

I have the UTG Pro quad rail, and from looking at the space, I'm 99% sure it would fit over a piston. Can't say I've actually tried it though.
