I may be belaboring the obvious here, but during a recent hospital stay, i found myself frustrated. by my inability to visit my favorite forums on my tablet, due to the institution's censorship software, which protects inmates from "dangerous" content.

My phone worked, of course, because it didn't rely on the hospital's wi-fi, but it is not much fun to hang out on the small screen.

Then I remembered my phone's "wi-fi hot spot" feature, which allows the device to receive the internet signal over the phone, and then broadcast it to nearby devices via wi-fi or blue tooth.

Of course, this idea may already be well-known. I knew it only as a theory, since I had never tried it. Now I have. It works, and it is pretty easy.

I have used the iPhone HotSpot feature for years to connect my laptop and iPad to the interned in remote locations. It works well.

A VPN will usually bypass the restrictions too.

Finding a link to an attachment (pic or video) during a google search will open a backdoor to a restricted website.
Sometimes more trouble than I wish.

Due to my wife's recent health issues, I've unfortunately spent much time in hospitals and doctors offices. They all restrict access to any firearms related sites: S&W, 1911, SIG, Beretta, Midwayusa, etc. Their free Wi-Fi, their rules, however much I might disagree……..

One of our biggest gun shows in Pa restricts the internet in the building. If your pay I believe 20 bucks they will allow you to use there signal.
