I've always liked early sixty's rock instrumentals, especially electric guitar. The Ventures, Chantays and The Shadows were some favorites. Well, I created a Pandora channel called The Ventures. I figured I'd get a random sampling of '60's Rock n Roll. Through two hours of listening every single song was appropriate to the Ventures style of Music. Tons of groups and tracks I'd never heard of. Pretty Cool!

Don't forget Link Ray and his Ray Men.

Or the surf guitar king:

:cool:Dick Dale and the Del-tones!

Love the classic surf guitar material! Should you be so inclined, there are also many younger groups doing the genre justice, even to the point of recording it on the old analog equipment.

Try The Bomboras, Mark Brodie & the Beaver Patrol, and The Mermen.

And be sure to try Los Straitjackets: A great sound, but an even greater live show. What else could you expect from a band whose uniforms consist of black pants and shirts, Converse Chuck Taylor hightops and Mexican wrestling masks?!

Thanks Mr. Riprock. I like those groups, especially The Mermen. I've never heard anything by the Mark Brodie group though.

Some other newer bands doing great surf music include Jason Lee and the R.I.P. Tides, The Bambi Molesters, The Fathoms, The Infrareds, The Nebulas and The Space Cossacks. You can find a lot of them on YouTube.

Long live Jags/Strats, tube amps and reverb tanks.
