There's the Shield Plus Performance Center and the Shield 2.0 Performance Center. The SKU you've mentioned is for the 2.0 and your thread title mentions the Shield Plus.

The Shield Plus variants give you the higher cap magazine.

Currently the Shield Plus 3.1" PC is not offered as Optics Ready, only the 4" one is, and it includes the CT red dot.

SKU 13254 is the 9mm Shield Plus 3.1" PC with 10/13rd mags, manual saftey, and fiber sights.

You could simply do an aftermarket slide mill (appx $150) for whichever specific optic you'd like. The advantage is that you won't have to diddle around with mounting plates and Dot will sit lower. The disadvantage will be that it's permanently cut for that one specific optic, so pick a good one if you do it.

Also... If you don't want to get a slide milled, you could perhaps find an aftermarket optics plate that fits into the dove tail for the rear sight.

That way there wouldn't be a permanent change to the gun.

2.0

The Shield 2.0 will have the curved trigger, thinner grip, and lower capacity
The Shield Plus will have the flatter trigger, thicker grip, and higher capacity

Performance Center options of either will give a smoother feel.

The Shield Plus Performance Center 4" includes the Crimson Trace red dot, and the SKU is 13251

You can see all of this on the Smith & Wesson website.

13253

:(I went to a range today and shot the Shield
1. Original Shield with the 13 max and a enhanced trigger.
2. The other was a Performance Center with ports.
The ports seemed to help me a lot. On Target more at 10 yds.
I liked the Trigger on the OEM.
The Range I was at ordered this:
A. SW 4" barrel
B. Optics ready which has the CT red Dot (per the guy I was talking to)
C. No Thumb safety
D: Ported
E: Trigger and Shear
F: Double Stack
13253 Retail per These guys was $925.00
They said I could turn it down if it was not what I wanted.

Recently bought the model 13253 and finally got it to the range last week. 150 rounds with only one glitch, a failure to feed in the first mag. Excellent trigger, crisp break with a short reset. Love the CT red dot and it co-witnesses with the fiber optic sights. I've read lots of complaints about the slide release being almost impossible to move to release the slide on a full mag but mine was no problem. Had to make some minor adjustments to get the red dot sighted in at ten yards. I had no trouble, even with these shaky old hands off a cheap plastic rest, shooting 1 1/2" groups.
Picked mine up at a LGS for $870.

Thanks for the help. I guess now I need to shop by price. haha Wish me luck.
P.S. The st:eek:ore that ordered it for me said it was $925.00 MSRP. But they could not give me the real price till it comes in? I told them I did want to ordered it with out knowing correct price. he said all you have to do is say you don't want it. that Simple. i said OK
