I've had this smith for a while and was asked a question about the model# I was told It would be a number like 1088282;108296 etc. Only thing I can find on the gun is the serial which is JRD91XX. I don't have the box and I was told it would be on it so no luck their. Here is a pic.

What you have is an early production SW1911 as depicted by the JRD serial #. Part # is 108282 although I suspect changes have been made in the newer 282 series to cut costs. These were built using allot of aftermarket parts. ( Trigger, springs, barrel, bushing, mags, sights, grip safety, etc. )I know becauce I have two of these in th JRD serial # range. Back then , S&W didn't offer much variaty as this model was their entry into the market. It did VERY well as you can see now.

That 1911 was most likely manufactured in 2003, as that was the initial year S&W started their 1911's and JRD was the initial prefix. It is sku#108282. Looks like a magwell has been added and is accompanied by a bunch of nice Wilson Combat 47D mags.
