Hi everyone. I recently purchased a S&W SW40VE. I LOVE the way it feels in the hand, very comfortable, easy to hold....etc.... anyway, I am having a bitch of a time getting it on target. I was shooting at the range and was shooting a Glock 40 another 45, my 357 and I could hit just about anything. Good groupings and overall fun. When it came to the S&W it was all over the place.... Has anyone experienced this? Could I need a "break in" time for this? It was the 1st time for the 45 and Glock 40 and I was spot on...I am in the process of getting S&W to evaluate the weapon to see if it's messed up in some manner... Doesn't make any sense to me... I don't think the trigger pull is doing anything. I am very deliberate in stance and aiming so there's plenty of time between shots to get back on target. From 10 yards out, I couldn't keep anything grouped.... had to get within 6 yds to actually get a good grouping... thanks for ANY input...

I had the same problem called S&W they told me they are expected to shoot into 4 in. at 21 feet. not too good

Then, how does this weapon get such rave reviews? I don't want to let anyone get THAT close if they were threatning me....

I don't know where they came up with that number but my groups are tighter than that. Even when practicing scenarios without using the sights I get good grouping. I have found that these pistols point very well and I can get on target every time I pull it from my holster. Maybe I just have good trigger control.

I get it, I'm actually going to send it to S&W to take a look at it... if they find nothing, then it's me... wife always says it's me anyway, so be it!
I DID get good groupings at 20 ft anyway... we'll see. Thanks for the insite!;)

When I first got my SD40, I was shooting way off target and was worried. I then changed the position of my hands on the pistol to a more widely known handling position and this is the result at 30 feet. I even hit one of the same holes twice lol. Never did that before. Solid gun once you figure it out.

The sd I have is my first pistol. I have only shot one other and not much, anyway I have had it alittle over a year and I can accurately shoot cottonmouths with clear out to 15-20 yards just rakes practice and learning of the trigger
