I'm sure anyone who has a SW40VE or SW9VE knows the similarities to the Glock pistol. I recently bought a SW40VE, and changed the slide lock to a Lone Wolf LWD-ESLL Extended Slide Lock Lever for Glock. The new slide lock lever works great. I haven't changed the slide stop lever yet, but I think the extended lever will also fit. I also bought a complete SW9VE slide with 9mm barrel, and found the 9mm fits the SW40VE frame like a glove. This gives me 2 pistols in one. Anyone else make this change?

timn8er suggested I move my post to here from the automatic area.
Thank you timn8er

Have you shot your gun with the 9mm slide yet?
I was just wondering how it shot for you.

I'm a bit confused. My SW9VE has the cross bar takedown and the slide lock/release lever. Which are you referring to? Now that you've bought the 9mm slide and barrel, have you tried a 9mm mag in your 40 cal frame?

Cross bar

I've changed the crossbar takedown (goes by different names, depending on whatever). bought thru E-Bay for $12.00 with free shipping. It is a Lone Wolf slide lock lever for most Glocks.
I don't have any 9mm mags for the gun, but the .40 cal mags work without any problem.

9mm SD mags don't fit the .40 frame: 9mm mags more narrow than .40 mags.
9mm ammo in .40 mags been tried before, often has feeding problems unless lips are modified.

He said he has fired 100 rounds with the 40 mags with no problems.

So? Some work, some don't. Manufacturing tolerances. Fellow a couple of years ago never got it to work right. Another fellow bought the 9mm mags before he found out they don't fit the .40 frame.
Feel lucky?

M&P magazines are same width between calibers, and the .40 to 9mm conversion nearly always works first time. Sigma/SDs, not so much. Saw the first thread on Sigma conversions over 10 years ago...as I recall, he was wondering why his didn't work. At one time, conversion barrel were made for the Sigma by Stornlake, but they had way too many returned to make money, and dropped them.

Like I said, it works for me

I don't know if I'm just lucky, or if the SW40VE and the SW9VE are closer in fit than the newer SD-VE versions. when to the range again today 5/12/2014 and ran another 50 rounds of 40 cal then 50 rounds of 9mm using the same 40 cal mag without a problem. My mags are 14 round mags, if that has anything to do with it.
