First off I still cannot watch too much real time footage of the burning buildings and people falling. It brings tears to my eyes. Also as does other footage and anecdotes. The pain of the survivors and families of the deceased has to be horrible.

The event also left me very angry. I was too old and already dealing with health issues to re-join the military.

Here's a way I made my statements.

First shirt front and back.

Fourth and last, I wore this shirt a LOT.

And now, due to our nation's dedication and our military's courage and expertise...the job on him is done.

I pray that peace will someday come to the minds of the survivors and the families of the deceased.

Well , call me a cynic , but I think those shirts are motivated more by making a buck off 9-11 than respect for those killed or patriotism.

Same with all the hucksters selling all sorts of guady merchandise with POW-MIA on it. Any money raised go in their pocket. I find most of it distasteful if not downright disrespectful.

mkk41,

The first T-shirt was designed by me and a fellow air traffic controller.

We sold them to our workmates and to others who saw our workmates wearing them.

All of the profits of that shirt bought four sets of about thirty or more which were sent to: The NY Police Department, The NY Fire Department, The NY Port Authority, The office of the Pentagon of the U.S. Navy that was struck on 9-11. Some of the shirts were given away. Three to Toby Keith, one to Senator John McCain. And I bought some with my own money and gave them away to friends who requested them. One of the ATC's stopped me one day in the hall. He had bought a shirt for his Dad, a WWII vet, at his Father's request. He was buried that week wearing the T-Shirt.

Two were delivered to the site of the UAL FLT93 crash.

The rest of the T-Shirts were "commissioned" by other air traffic controllers. These shirts were given away free to everyone who wanted one as long as the stocks lasted.

Your assumption is incorrect.

Thank you for what you have done regarding the shirts, and also your military service and willingness to get back into the thick of things .
Btw, if you have a large one, like the first one pictured, I'd be willing to send 5 times the price of the shirt to Wounded Warriors or likewise groups. All money donated would be in your name. Let me know.

Too bad McCain was incorrect - Just way too bad!

I somehow doubt all the made in china 9-11 t-shirts and other stuff sold in flea markets and on Ebay is helping any worthy causes.
