Sometimes in my travels I will order soft tacos from a Taco Truck and I have had some good tacos that way. I haven't ordered from any rigs in the article (these are classy) but my experience has been a good overall. I don't think Taco Trucks are in all states are they?

I see them on construction sites here in central Ohio sometimes, mostly where the construction crews are heavy on the hispanic side. Never ate off one though.

Many years ago I was in mexico. I seen a dead dog on the sidewalk. Then I seen a taco vender stand guard over it while he sent a buddy go get something to haul it off with. Kind of killed my enthusiasm of buying tacos down there.

Some of the best food I ever ate in Tijuana was off of the street vendors. I have no idea what it was, but it hit the spot.

A lot like the "BBQ Meat" stands in Olongapo, nothing hit the tummy quite as well as meat on a stick after a night of drinking painted label San Miguel and sitting at the high table.

I've always wanted to stop, mainly because I see more Mexicans eating there than at the Mexican restaurants. But their trucks seem in disrepair and unwashed, and they tend to frequent crime ridden parts of town. But I always had trouble with the "Roach Coaches" that brought stale sandwiches to jobs I worked in the past.

We have taco trucks here. And most have good tacos. (haven't got sick off them yet)

"If it tastes good eat it. Dont ask what it is."

The Humane Society used to place a lot of cats with taco truck drivers until they figured out that the kitties were being served up in corn shells.

That sounds a lot like the empty dog food cans in the Taco Bell dunpster rumors that flew around my home town when I was growing up. I don't think it was ever substaniated.

Besides, it isn't the Taco Truck that are cat lovers.

Bob, You are correct. i was thinking of some novels that I can no longer remember the titles of. The subject was law enforcement in the Nations of Oklahoma from Ft. Smith. The main character loved the Mexican Tacos served at Ft. Smith knowing that there was never a stray cat in the town. He knew that beef or goat never had that good a flavor

They serve the illegal clients here almost exclusively at "hiring corners" and construction sites. The actual Mexican retaurants here are so good and so cheap that the 'roach coaches' are not even tempting.

I used to see a lot of them on Hempstead Highway here in H Town but they aren't around anymore. I used to grab a few for lunch here and there and they were actually pretty good. I just wouldn't want to see the prep area up close!

There's more of 'em than you can shake a stick at in Salt Lake City. Every city block south of downtown has a couple.

(BTW, the best one is the southwest corner of the Sears parking lot at Main and 8th S.....)

True story-A mexican resturant in Kenner LA got in a lot of trouble a few years back. Seems like the cook was shooting doves out of the trees with an air rifle and making dove fajitas. Health department shut 'em down. DOn't know why-I've had dove fajitas and they're pretty good but these guys got in a lot of trouble

Not often seen in Salt Lake City, Utah. Apparently, they can't compete with the masses of Mexican restaurants in town.
Huge Hispanic population in Salt Lake City, and it seems there is a Mexican restaurant every block in each direction.
But I see few carts.
However, 40 miles west in Tooele, there's a popular cart on Main Street. I've eaten there. It's good, but no better than I can get at any nearby Mexican restaurant.

Bob, One of those vendors told me that nights "special" was monkey. It sure was good, whatever it was!

There used to be a taco stand in Carlsbad, NM, that sold cat tacos. We didn't know that they were made of cats until the health department found a freezer full of cats on the premises and shut them down. At first we were alittle upset by this but it wasn't long before we'd glance over there to see if they had reopened, but that never happened.

I've never seen a "Taco Truck" brand roach coach, but I've eaten off roach coaches nation wide.

Sometimes it's the only chance I get to eat. The ones that contain a kitchen and an Hispanic lady seem to be the best. I try to stay away from the pickups with stale sandwiches, cold coffee and yesterday's pizza and donuts.

One of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had is served from a roach coach at the Port of Long Beach, Ca.
