I need suggestions oin flashlight to mount on my moe. I bought a surefire G2Z and it puts out a good light. The problem is, it burned the batteries out in less than an hour.I bought it 'as new' off ebay. The seller told me it was led. but it wasn't. I don't wan't to go through the trouble of trying to get my money back.
So, I guess what I am looking for is a good LED flashlight that is easy on batteries.

Just got the exact same light a few days ago at a great price. Can't comment on the battery life yet but man is it bright! Rated for 160 lumens.

I turned on the strobe function and my wife looked at it and couldn't see right for 10 minutes. Oops!

Haha..thats funny.. Iv heard of ppl seeing brown spots for 20 min after looking into it..cant wait to get it this week

you can pick up a CREE R2 led bulb unit fairly cheap. $8 - $12. eBay or just Google CREE R2.

Just do this. I bought some Surefire G2 lights when they were on sale for $19 w/free shipping, but they came with the P60 halogen bulbs.

I looked on Ebay for CREE bulbs and any LED bulbs that would fit into a G2 (same as G2Z) and I bought some single-mode LED P61-spec bulbs for $4.85 each w/free shipping. Since they were so cheap, I picked up a couple of extras since shipping takes about 2-3 weeks from China. But they work perfectly and are very bright, exactly the same as my friend's G2 w/factory P61 LED in it.

You can also get 5-mode LED bulbs, but for a tac light I just want the 1 mode so there's not messing around with the light in the wrong mode.

Pinstripe, I hope you like it. I love mine, it's indeed very bright. And even though it uses $$ batteries, the fact that they have a 10 year shelf-life makes it OK with me.
EDIT: Forgot to add that it's also one of the most compact units I could find; since it's designed to be used on handguns as well you have the option of swapping it around.

I was just curious what both of you paid for them? I picked mine up for $85 from OMB's while they had a back-order special.

Wow 85 is an amazing price.. Picked mine up for 110.. Just got it in last night and on the gun.. I was going to buy the pressure switch and am now glad i didnt as its very easy to work the lever switch without letting go.. It's compactness was another selling point for me

That's a great price. Found mine after a lot of looking for $99 with free shipping. And you are so right about the size. Very compact and actually smaller than it appears in the pictures.

I did have a heck of a time trying to figure out how to get the battery door open. Instuctions weren't to clear on that.
