You have to keep all manner of pests out of a garden if it is to be successful.
One must avail himself of the best tools at his disposal if one is to effect a happy and fruitful harvest.

Hoe. No, not that kind, the kind used to chop weeds.

Sprayer to apply chemicals to control both weeds and insects.

Fence Charger. It is almost impossible to have a garden here without keeping deer out. The fence is an off set electric. Both the two inner strands of polyrope and the outer strand of polywire are charged. The idea is to fool the deer into thinking he/she can't jump it, because of their lack of depth perception. Working so far. We will see.

Here's what happens when deer have access. Note that the corn plants have been clipped off by deer. They treat peas even worse.

Cultivator. Another weed fighting tool.

As much as I hate venomous snakes I might just leave one alone in my garden. Maybe. I would at least keep the rat snakes, corn snakes, and the like around. Screw it, Mr. Venom Sacks would be history.

That snake is as thick as a K frame (?) revolver !?!

I'd buy my termaters at Wal-Mart. :D

But think of how much vermin that dude swallowed to get that fat. That is the only reason I might pass him by. Maybe.

Redlevel,

1) You have a very large garden!

2) You have very large snakes!

3) I take it the shotgun is to defend your watermelons from two legged predators? "Watch out for Old Man Redlevel, He'll shoot you if you steal his melons!"

Looks like you have quite the successful gardening operation, I thought I was a "Gentleman Gardener" with 2000 square feet of garden, yours makes me look like an amatuer!
