Is there any gap to worry about or misalignment when these are installed.

Thanks

Mine has a slight gap. Can't address the alignment as the free float hand guard I installed is round and doesn't require alignment. There are plenty of others with more experience, so hopefully they'll chime in for you.

I was also wondering this. I saw a video on youtube where the guy was trying to install a Troy Rail and the gap was pretty noticeable. I want to install an NSR on my soon enough but not if the gap is going to be an eye-soar

I wanted to go the NSR route but it would have been to much work. You will have to actually trim a lot of plastic off the upper in order for it to fit without a 1/4-3/8" gap.

I wasn't ready to go hacking up my upper to make it fit. A shame because it would have looked awesome with my barrel cut down.

I could probably post some pictures tonight to show you.

I have the tacticool barrel nut conversion and I have a considerable gap. My rail was having a little bit of a misalignment issue but I have fixed that with a little bit more twist and now its properly aligned.

At first I had my riser hovering over top of the gap but once i realigned it, I moved the riser and optic back and it looks a lot better.

The gap is noticable, but for me it's not that bad. I'll post pics in a moment.

I have two adapters
The HGC-1 brings the barrel nut or the back of the free float hand guard right up to the face of the indexing lugs on the upper. This leaves a 1/4" gap to the face of the picatinny rail.
The HGC-1A requires the removal of the bottom indexing lug and most of the top lug and will leave a gap of 3/32
If you look at the side and follow the front edge of the picatinny rail down, you will see a step forward where the bottom lug is. It is also the front of the pivot pin boss. The barrel nut or hand guard can go no further back than that.

How do we go about getting one of these HGC-1A? I wish I knew of this before I ordered my stuff... I guess I should of bought off the website rather than eBay.

Edit... Went to the website and found em... Order # 3209

The gap doesn't look that bad to my eyes, but I wonder if there is anyway you could perhaps machine a spacer in there that keys around the lugs to take up the space, perhaps Delrin or something like that?

That would definitely relieve the issues!
