Attention all gun owners!! IMHO it is a great time to take one of your "non-gun" owning friends to the range. Think back to the very first time you ever shot a gun. For most of us, it was love at first recoil! I have a lot of friends that have never really had "access" to firearms as kids therefore, they have never made an honest assessment of their 2nd amendment right. They do not see the importance of gun ownership now that they're older as they have no desire to fork out $500 for a gun when $500 could go for so many other things in today's world. It's easy to get your friends addicted with a little range time! Just put a little fuel on the fire, meaning give them a quick safety lesson and put a gun in their hand! Bang! Addicted! It'll be fun for both of you and we could always use more pro-gun people on our side! Just my 2 cents! Have a safe day!

I have extended an invitation to all my non-shooting friends to join me at the range; my treat for fees and ammo and I'll bring the guns.

So far no takers.

I took a co-worker to the range yesterday and let him shoot my 9mm M&P, 40 cal Ruger P944, and 40 cal 4013TSW. He liked the 4013 the best; I wished him luck in finding one! I also suggested he look for a 6906, as it is the same size, fit, function, and feel as the 4013TSW. And it is more available. He has been thinking about buying a gun lately so maybe I pushed him off the fence!

Recently, during one of those losing battle-type conversations, I offered to take one of our "friends" to the range so she could better understand guns and perhaps alleviate some of her fear and misconceptions over them. She told me (in pretty plain terms) that she had no intention of shooting a machine gun and equated me to an agent of the devil.

I took that as a "no"!

If your friend liked the 4013TSW the best he obviously has taste. And, he sounds like a possible 3rd Gen addict in the
making. Good idea recommending the 6906 to him;its definitely one of my favorites!:D

With all due respect....were you dropped on your head as a youth?!?!?!?!?:D

I tried numerous times with a few people. I think I'd have to kidnap them to get them there. They'd rather play golf in the snow.

I've had luck a few times but most have no interest. Everyone I've introduced liked it and a few went on to get their own guns. One got into guns in a big way but unfortunately he died last year. We'd just got back together again and had shooting and hunting plans together.

I've taken three neighbors recently. One was hooked instantly. He begged and whined until I sold him my Ruger flat top Bisley 44 special (very reluctantly) for which he now casts bullets and reloads in my man cave and he just passed his test for a carry permit...with that big old single action.
