What is the tallest front sight available for an N frame full lug barrel with a pinned front sight? I have a 4" Md 625 Model of 1989 and I want to use a gold bead front sight instead of the ramp that comes on it. However, with the stock .126" rear leaf the sight notch is not deep enough to see the bead. I'd need a .160" to see the entire bead. If they make a .350" front sight I'd be OK. Do they? If you have a solution to my problem, please respond via email as well. Thanks.

You could have the rear elevation screw repaired so the screw is counterbored deeper into the base. I had to do this a few times.

The part you may want is what came on the original 625s .296 black serrated ramp, part number 038110000 with a .106 rear blade.

Keith;
Scott Malkerin specializes in gold bead sights for S&W revolvers. He can probably make any height you want.
Google SD fabricating, or go to the American Pistolsmith Guild site and look for his website...also, you can machine the rear blade slot deeper to get more view; a common practice on competition guns. I never liked the skinny .126 for anything and adjusted all sights/guns to use the .160
Good luck
Jerry
