Has anyone done a comparison between the rubber Talon Grips VS the Granular Grips? Did a search & didn't find anything. Looking for a comparison between the two. Is one better than the other?

I was just wondering the same earlier when looking them up
I have Talon Grips (granular) On my Ruger LC9, I figured smaller grip gives me something to hold onto. I have the Rubber ones on my M&P 40c. The rubber ones are ok, I just think the rubber talon grips are similiar to the stock one on the M&P's. So to answer your ? i like the granular, it may stick to clothing for the first month or so.

I like the GRANULAR, just got back from firing 100 or so rounds, everyone at the range liked the Shields THINNESS and they were in LOVE with the Talon Granular stick-on grip panels.

Granular is like Skateboard Stuff and paper thin, I have these and Love them. The rubber would add thickness I suppose, I was looking for a GRIPPY Material and NO INCREASE in Thickness of the grip.
I had the Rubber grips on my CM9 and they were fantastic. When you're talking about adding width......I mean, we're talking like 1mm
I prefer them over granular grips because they don't wear down pants/holsters/skin/etc.
Hopefully the rubber grips for my Shield will be in this afternoon.

The granular ones will snag your clothing and cause you to print, as well as cause your shirt or outer garment to ride up and hang their. I had them on my 40c and they lasted about two days, and I ripped them off. Wife said that they scuffed her hands when fireing the weapon as well. The 40c has an adiquite grip already, I just wanted to try them.

Agree 100%, add that the granulated can scratch your hand after a long time shooting at the range.
I've got the rubber grip on my Shield. Like the feel. Be advised if you live in the hotter parts of the country and have to leave your firearm in a vehicle (at work), the adhesive may not perform well at the lap. I was told by Talon the granular grip may work better under those conditions (different adhesive?). I used a drop of a different adhesive where the grip laps. Will know more this summer???

I wasn't crazy about the grandular ones either and as you stated they do tend to wear/grab your clothes in as they are just about like super course sandpaper. Granted they do give a super grip though. I like the rubber ones better but have had to super glue them in a couple of places where they overlap on each other but then I have had mine on my shield for 7 months or so. Have a spare set of the rubber ones when these get to the point where they won't stick anymore.
As far as adding any width to the grip the rubber are just the same as the grandular except the surface material being different.

Talon recommends trimming the rubber grips to avoid overlap, saying the glue often wont hold the overlap. One reason I was leaning toward granular as you can overlap those. Anyone trim the rubber grip and have feedback? Just feel like id mess that up.

I just installed the Talon granular grips on both my Shield and 9C, I love the way they feel but I do have concerns about how they will wear my Crossbread IWB holster and clothing. Has anyone used the Talon granulars for an extended period of time? The instructions do say that you can use some 120 grit sandpaper to make them less abrasive.
I can not comment on the shield model. but can on the Compact, The Grip on the Compact is good for it's size. and you can adjustst it for your palm size. Pistol feels great for a .40 of it's size. i shoot this gun spot on. Love it. The only other gun in this size I would consider is the Kahr MK40.

Can't say about Shield or rubber grip but I've the granular on my 40c and dig it. Hand gets sweaty at all, it doesn't matter; grip is unaffected. I am, however slightly concerned about it grabbing my shirt while carrying. I'll have to see about this. Not really worried about it wearing on my IWB holster. Would take awhile to make a hole I imagine. 
I also bought one for my cousin and his G19. Thought he needed something to replace the pieces of sand paper he stuck on there. Just waiting to get his address in Afghanistan. Pretty sure he'll like it.

I have a Talon on my XDs .45 and like it. I ordered the rubber Talon for my Shield. Have not put it on yet as sometimes the cutting the overlap is a pita. IMO there should be no overlap on the Shield as the size of the grip is not adjustable. I ordered a rubber grip from tractiongrips.com yesterday. Will be interesting to see how it performs vs the Talon

I have rubberized Talon and Traction grips on a couple of my smaller pistols and like the feel and purchase of the pistol's grip much better. It might just be my imagination, but I think they help with recoil even though they add virtually nothing to the grip's dimensions. With the inter-changeable back straps on my M&P compact, I've never felt the need to put any on it. I've liked the rubberized version enough I haven't tried the grit-type, but I would be concerned they might irritate my skin if the pistol contacted it.
I have both the rubber and granular grips on my M&Ps. I went with the rubber grips for my carry guns (Shield and 9c) as I didn't want the granular tape rubbing my love handles or snagging a shirt when trying to draw.
I put the granular tape on my full size and 22lr M&P. Really like the traction you get from the granular tape.

Some really good insight from those that have had both or currently have both types. I have the rubberized ones on my Shield and really like it. Sorry to say I can't speak to the granular. But when friends and family shoot my Shield they love rubberized Talon grips I have on it. I like that I don't feel it on my skin as I carry IWB. That for me was what sealed the deal.

I put the rubber Traction-grip on my Shield and really like the feel. Backstrap is open but no issue at all in gripping and holding the gun.

If you plan to carry every day....rubber all the way.
I put the granular on my shield this AM. They started to do some "chaffing" in 1 hour. IWB with a simple clip on holster. I took 120 grit sand paper to the area that was touching my skin. It really helped! I love these grips! They really help with control. Shot 150 rounds 9mm and no issues with my hands. If I had a 40 shield, I could see the possibility of sanding some skin after a hundred rounds.... I am going with the rubber on my 40c.

I am deciding on whether to use Granulate or Rubber.
This will a Strictly range gun ... no concealed carry or carrying of any kind .. it will be in a case to and from the range and in a safe at home.
I am leaning towards the granulate but not sure.

For range only I would definitely go with granular. As others have posted, when carried IWB mine would grab on to my cover shirts. I keep granular on my Glock 20 for hunting, rubber on my carry guns, VZ or Hogue G10 grip panels on Sigs and 1911's.

Just ordered a set of rubberized hope I like them better than stock grip on my shield.
