Taps...you've not heard it played like this before!

No George, it isn't Taps. I thought that if I entitled the post Il Silenzio no one would open the thread so I called it Taps. The piece was written by an Italian sometime in the 1960's. It uses some of the phrasing of Taps which is a much older piece. Still moving, no matter what you call it. One of the things which struck me was the brilliance of the tone of the young lady who is only slightly larger than her trumpet.

I like Rosso's version, too.

I'm 70 now a former Marine and a retired Law Enforcement Officer. sadly I have lost friends and comrades in both fields. I watched and listened to that very young lady play. I have been been accused of being a hard man but as I listened and remembered fallen friends I must admit I got glassy eyed. We have forgot so much in the recent years that sometimes it is good to remember what cost our freedom and safety has been paid. That young lady has the God given talent that makes all so clear, even trough eyes that have a tear in them. God save America and God bless that little girl with a big talent....May that talent like this great country always be heard in a manner that honors the sacrifices that have been made by so many. What else can be said...but thank You for this post.
