Tavor X95 IWI

Guys, I was reluctant to buy this Tavor as I know bullpups are not the most accurate not to mention they are pretty pricey. But I also read a lot of issues with the Tavor as far as accuracy issues, feeding problems, bolt levers being broken by the magazine(Pmag gen2).

I just hope I will not regret I made this purchase because it was pretty expensive. Anybody else own a Tavor and how do they like it?

Don't own one. Almost took the plunge several times. The X95 seems like a nicer offering than the original. Several of my shooting buddies have the original model and I've put rounds down range with those but other than fondling the X95 I have no experience with it.

Let me know what you think about it once you gets some rounds through it.

I sure will and I think the new one definitely is better than the old one which had a 10lb trigger and why I avoided that.

For me there was something about the grip angle and the back end of the stock that just didn't feel right to me on the original. The X95 just feels better to me. Also, I don't think I've fired a Tavor with a stock trigger. Pretty sure all of my buddies have upgraded to the Geissele.

I have a Tavor, they are known to be more accurate than the x95 despite the early Tavor had a worse trigger. I like mine. The Tavor is being discontinued for it younger sibling, so if you want one get on it!
The accuracy issue with x95 appears to be barrel harmonic issue with the stock shell contacting the barrel. On the Tavor the barrel is kinda free floated.

^^Very true, aside from the cost, many would point out that any "Battle Rifle" should not have too light of a trigger.

The X95 is much more accuarate than the old version. I think they solved the issue with accuracy problems with that strap that was attached.

Comparing apples to ribs. If I'm buying a Tavor it's because I need a rifle not a pistol.

I’ve had one of the original Tavors for a couple of years and I like it fine. Used it in one of John Farnam’s rifle courses. Fired close to a thousand rounds through it in two days, rolled it in the dirt, didn’t clean it and generally abused it. Function was 100%, not a single malfunction. In fact, I now have about 4000 rounds through it and it has been 100% all along. We shoot a lot of steel in that course out to about a hundred yards, and it was more than accurate enough even with the stock trigger. It did everything I asked of it in its intended role. I don’t think I can ask much more than that. I haven’t tried an X95 yet but I have no reason to think it wouldn’t be just as good.

Love mine. And my Jeff Miller IWI Galil. I’m not the shoot a ragged hole group guy, and not just because I couldn’t shoot a decent group with a precision rifle. . Fun guns to shoot. My friend borrowed my Tavor, didn’t like the trigger, but loved the gun.

The X95 is much better. The mag release is just like an AR in front. also the rear of the gun is tapered so seems easier to find magwell. The trigger is 6lbs instead of the older 10lbs. and from what i heard IWI made some changes to increase accuracy

Wow I love the vortex strike eagle but I put that on my AR. I think for the bullpup it is a bit too heavy for that gun.

B-I-N-G-0. Yes, I agree. i’m in the process of putting the scope on an AR and the red dot on the AR on the Tavor. I keep saying “tomorrow”. But then I moved out of the house for a week, or so and just returned, but that’s a different story.....��‍����‍��‍. Although I bought a EF U Redhawk 44 mag while gone. It’s very nice.

LOVE those legacy Galils. Absolutely hate the mag release cover. There's an import Israeli Galil at my LGS. I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on it

Someone at my gun club let me shoot a magazine out of his X95. I liked it a lot, and because of it's compact size I'd prefer it over an AR platform, but I'm no expert.
