Despite the predictions of the local media [what a sorry, uneducated, prejudiced lot], the Knoxville Tea Party was an overwhelming success.

Our event was held at the amphitheater on the World's Fair site. The amphitheater, with seating for 1,000, was filled well before the official start time of 3pm. The overflow crowd occupied all the areas adjacent and finally spilled over to the opposite bank of the waterway behind the amphitheater. Local media were present, especially those AM and FM stations devoted to talk radio, but the local TV stations showed up, too.

The youngest participant I saw was just a few months old but the sign on his stroller said:

'Don't mortgage my future!'

Check your local Tea Party gatherings to see how successful they were...and dedicate yourself to helping future events succeed.

It's clear that these Tax Day protests are only the beginning of a movement that will force the 'representatives' in The Swamp to reconsider their plans to bankrupt our country, the greatest the world has ever known.

am watching the TV now and the news reports,,they are playing it down, but i think it is going to be a big deal ,,and i support it, time for a major change in how the gov. phucks us

Fox news is giving all the tea parties full coverage. Atlanta has over 15,000 gathered, and they are reporting over 2300 tea parties across the country.

As expected, the MSM is downplaying the largest anti-tax campaign ever held in this country. The politicians are officially on notice. 2010 is right around the corner.

If you don't mind, you've inspired me to add a few pics from the TEA party held in Mandeville LA today. Perhaps this could become a thread for TEA party pics from all over the country. Just email me if you would rather these not be here and I will delete them immediately (don't mean to hijack your tread).

We got there late. I would say that we seen at least a couple of hundred people leaving as we got there and the crowd was still pretty large.

Here is my boy listening intently to the speaker... his first civics lesson, and he passed with flying colors!

After the TEA party we took the boy over to the playground and let him vent some of that pent up energy. I took a few shots of the sunset.

After watching the sunset on a good (and possibly historic day) we closed out the day by going for a treat of frozen custard. All in all... a damned fine day.
