The Bham show given by the southern gun collectors ? or something like that is an awesome show. Havent been in a number of years, used to go with my ex-father-in law who sadly passed on. Yea we stayed best friends despite his daughter. The show is big compaired to around here and has most eveything that interests me. Well worth the time to go, never went to a bad one and we went to many.

I believe the next AGCA show is March 16-17 at the Hoover Met. It used to be downtown at the BJCC for many years. I can't put my finger on it but it seems that something was lost when the show was moved to Hoover. Many would disagree with me citing improved parking, safety concerns etc but that's just my opinion. The show is still worth going to though. The last one I went to I picked up a Smith Military & Police 4" circa 1928 in fantastic condition. The seller had $400 on it. I asked him if he would take $350 for it. Without even hesitating he said "Yes! I need to sell something"! I really wasn't looking for another .38 but I couldn't pass it up. For what it's worth if you like the show (and it is the best one in this area) you should consider joining the AGCA. That way you get in free and can bypass the long line outside. Hope this helps.

I like this show as long as long as it's the one put on by The Alabama Gun Collectors Assoc. I like it much better at Hoover than downtown Birmingham. I don't think the AGCA show is this weekend. I like the new place because it's a little closer to where I live (220 vs. 240 miles) and there's plenty of easy to get into free parking. I usually come home with something from this show. Last time it was a eight shot Ithaca mod 37 riot gun with marine finish for $400.00. I'd been wanting one for some time and until I found this one I had only seen one other. Lots of S&W stuff there too, if you have lots of money.

I have not been to the show since it moved to Hoover. I have only attended the AGCA shows in the past but they did add some nice old S&W N frames to my collection. Its a very long ride from my place.

The AGCA show in March should be bigger and if I was coming from Pensacola I'd probably wait for it.
I believe the CASC show is put on by a AGCA member/officer and he does several each year. They are pretty good but not as big as AGCA shows.
I will be going Sunday and meeting another forum member there but I only have to drive about 30 minutes.

I'm going to go . It's time for me to start cashing out . Figured I'd bring 10 or so collector grade S&W's & see how it goes . Also looking for a couple of bottom feeding uninvited guest pistols . Not many collectors around here & unless I want to pay MSRP LGS / private sellers here are nuts .
