Cabin fever set in today. I found some .22 lr i didn't know I had. Probably 400 rounds or so. Sun came out. Temp up to 40. Got out with my old K22. It was cold. Snow and mist blowing out of the pines. I had a ball. Absolutely nothing shoots like the old 4-digit K-22. Nothing I have owned, anyhow. I hope I can keep stumbling on these hidden caches of .22.;-)

They are probably from a brick just like this one. Same headstamp. I bought a half dozen of them some years back. I gave some for Christmas gifts and apparently stashed a few back. I found this one a while back. I guess I have just stumbled on three or four thousand rounds in the last few months.

When the hoarding started I decided to see how many boxes of .22 LR I had. I was amazed, I probably have about 5,000 rounds. Some of it older than I am.
Still, I'd like to get more.:D

Nice K-22 by the way.
I've got my late Fathers. It dates to about 1956. I need to go shoot it some more.

A couple of years ago I started buying a little every time I saw some, a brick here, a couple of boxes there. For a couple of months last summer I did the ammo dance at GM, often coming away empty handed, but usually picking up a few boxes.

I gathered it up the other day and came to a quick count of something north of 6000 rounds, not a lot, but not bad. I'll keep buying, but I won't feel too bad about going through a brick in an afternoon.

Temps above freezing, 400 rds. Of previously unknown .22 ammo.....you need to buy a lottery ticket right away; its said things come in threes.

Lucky today! (not at home )

Stopped in at Dicks at opening and was lucky enough to get a bucket o bullets, they only had one case (4 buckets per case)
I snatched it up. 70.00 for 1400 hp 1280 fps I watched them all go in a matter of about 30 seconds

The temperature is up here, too. Enough to melt the snow.

All I found was a month's worth of "presents" my dog left in the yard.

I'd post a picture, but well, you know...

Congrats on your find, Red. We've had temperatures above freezing the last couple of days, melting some of the snow. While I don't have a K-22, I do have a Model 34. You've inspired me!! Just might have to take that out this afternoon and do a little shooting.:)

These particular rounds won't cycle through the new Ruger 22/45 i bought right after Christmas. I guess I will be forced to shoot them in my revolvers and Marlin 39A rifles. More's the pity.;)

It's nearly 50 now, most of the snow's gone, and a bright sun shining. My daughter came home from her teaching job, so I guess she and I will take the K22 and "her" Model 63 and dispose of a couple hundred more of these "non-auto" rounds this afternoon.
