Picked up a new 9mm Shield last week. Cleaned, lubed and off to the range. 80 rounds and 8-10 slide jams later (locked back, took a good rap to release), back to the store I went. Armorer at the shop where I got it thinks it might be the recoil spring. They didn't have a spare, so it's on its way to S&W. Not sure if it is the spring or the barrel issue I've seen noted in another thread. I just hope it gets fixed right the first time so I can put some rounds through it.

That's a shame. I bought a new 9mm Shield this summer, now have 6-700 rounds through it with nary a problem other than the magazine spring issue which they've already replaced. Sorry you're having a bad experience as I think it's a great EDC weapon.

I'm hoping it's just bad luck and the fix will allow problem free operation for the future. In the meantime it's back to the CCP which, after reading all the issues on that weapon in the Walter forum, I assumed would be the more problematic gun.
