...legislation to allow CCW to carry firearms in vehicle regardless of location (school, work, etc).

I know there are opinions here on keeping your firearm in your car, but I would rather see a bill signed increasing my freedom rather than restricting it.

Tennessee has nearly 400,000 CCW's.

Our boys in Nashville are constantly dreaming up pro gun stuff. :)

Just last month Joe Carr proposed legislation to make it a misdemeanor for federal law enforcement to enforce any new federal gun bans in Tennessee. Yeah baby! :D

Guns in bars... loaded rifles in cars... telling the feds to stick it... and I read something a few weeks ago about proposed legislation to allow guns in state buildings... Gotta love them boys in Nashville.

I don't know anyone who works at a place that searches employees' vehicles. To me, this seems like the bill passed a few years back that made it legal to eat roadkill; a solution to a nonexistent problem.

I worked at a place for 42 years in Oak Ridge, TN that would not allow any firearms or any ammunition in your vehicle. They even threatened to fire people who had empty shotshells in their vehicle from weekend skeet shoots. They even sent one employee back home (he worked for me at the time) because he had a box of 500 38 special lead bullets (bullets, not ammunition)that he had picked up at lunch at a local sporting goods store for reloading. They used car searches and dogs to check cars in the parking lots and on the entry roads. This despite having to go through metal detectors for entrance and searches of all packages. After I retired, I worked a few months a another business in Oak Ridge that also did not allow firearms or ammunition in your vehicle. I was a security guard who had to be unarmed at the main gate. I only stayed there 3 months. I parked my car a couple blocks away and walked to the facility instead of using their parking areas. This is a great law that the governor will sign. We need to keep Tennessee a free state.

Wow! Thanks for the information. I had no idea there were places like that. Now I can understand the reason for the bill.
