Terrible Boating Luck & Now Gun Fund Depleted

Blew my little 9.9 boat motor up Sunday.... a real whizzer.
We had two local 9.9 horsepower limited lakes that were recently raised to 25hp limit. SO.... in the back of my mind I'm wanting to upgrade horsepower. Fishing buddy says 'nah this motor is fine!'

Couple days of mourning, it's time to move on. After the lakes raised the limits to 25 horsepower used motors are scarce. Called an Alabama dealer yesterday morning, he says I'm the 4th caller searching that am. Woe is me.... I've gotta have remote steering and a long shaft..... strike two on that configuration.
Searched all of Alabama Wednesday and Thursday; turned the search to Tennessee today. Bingo!!! A little run to Lebanon Tn. tomorrow and I'm in business.

Mercury 4 stroke EFI electric start long shaft with remote steering at a good price. Shine on Lady Luck!!!

Downside..... no new guns forever:D

I enjoy posting fish pics.... fishing & shooting( buying guns) are my only hobbies....I'll post fishing pics until y'all holler calf rope.

Really like the State of Tennessee.... after a few phone calls it was obvious my southern twang voice is on par with theirs (Alabama not so much).

One new boat dealership salesman said in southern drawl: "I'm gonna hook you up!"

I'm too old and out of shape to get scuba certified.... else I'd be exploring some of these modern day boating accidents.... gun collections scattered everywhere!!!!:eek:
 
The definition of the word boat;
A hole in the water, lined by wood, fiberglass, or metal. Into which you constantly poor money.
Some days I miss boating, others not. Enjoy and keep those life jackets handy.
 
I learned how to water ski on my dads aluminum 16' v hull boat with an 18 hp Evinrude. Come to think of it a whole bunch of the neighborhood kids learned to ski behind that boat and I bet that boat brought in as many Crappie as any boat in Oklahoma.

Not to my knowledge... but hey.... I'm just a little feller fishing amongst a lot of local 'big sticks'..... I'll ask around..

Check out his youtube videos. His older ones are quite entertaining and although he can be a clown he dearly loves fishing and is more than capable.
 
Ah...boats and guns. Spent many a $$ on them. I only own 2 at the present time. a 17 1/2 foot CC and an old Ouachita from about 1974. It has a Johnson 7 1/2 from 1979. The useless motors are them Moicry motors. They blow up regular. We had a 18 foot jon boat with a 25 Nissan we used to layout for sea ducks back yonder. We could sure shoot a buncha shells at 'em

Grandpas old ouachita boat sporting a new 7.5hp motor...

Got one of them too.... onliest it ain't new!
 
Replacing the badly worn water pump impeller....missed the water jet connection inside.... ran motor without cooling water...

Old Geezer...hate to admit it.... is what it is..
