Hello;
Anyone tell me what a Tex Shoemaker 23HA holster might fit?
Tan basket weave, OWB belt type.
I think its for a S&W semi pistol but don't know for sure or what model???
Thanks, Ron

I couldn't find a Shoemaker 23HA. It might help someone to help you
if you could post photos of the front and back of the holster.

You know this 469/669 because?
I,ve tried several 3rd gen 9mm pistols in the holster, none of them liked it.
Way to tight.

Tex Shoemaker always had a strange numbering system for their holsters. They use to have a chart on their website which explained what holsters fit which guns, but since closing the doors looks like their website was taken down. Quick search on Ebay shows for a S&W 469.

I had the same holster only in Black Basketweave that I gave away as a karma drawing here on the forum. It fit my second gen 669 with the squared off trigger guard.

It was listed as fitting a 469-669 where/when I bought it, which is why I picked it up. I thought it would fit a 6904, and not owning a 469-669. Wanted to check what it actually was made for.
I just "assumed" it would fit.
But no, way to tight. Do these older, stiffer, well made holsters shrink?

Shrink very little but can be stretched. Immerse it in water for several hours. Protect the firearm with grease, oil or dry lubricant and then shove it in to where you want it to go, then set aside a while. Some also wrap the firearm with thin plastic as well as lube unless it is stainless. You will need to treat the leather once it is dry. Any local leather shop can sell you a good product to keep the leather from cracking.

In my experience, and no offense intended: folks who say 'doesn't fit, too tight' often meant they haven't been able to close the safety strap; and not that the pistol won't seat in the pocket itself. Let us know, the cures are similar but nevertheless different!

I have often found the safety strap problem when the gun has the target
hammer. It generally requires a stretch of about a quarter inch, which is
not too difficult, and water is not really necessary.

I checked the fit for my 6904. The pistol has the square trigger guard. Did some measuring. Sq. trigger guard precludes the possibility of the rest of the gun sliding in any deeper to accommodate the retainer strap.
On the other hand, my 3913 drops in like it was made for it.
So I'm not totally displeased.
