Thailand Rosewood grips

I purchased some eBay rosewood grips from rice land for my cz 82. Since Rosewood is one of the prettiest wood grains there is I decided to see if the gray, red, Orange and brown etc wood grain was present under the reddish color finish. I used 0000 steelwool to clean and prep for the tung oil finish. The multi colored wood grain popped right out of the wood. After three very thin coats of tung oil I let it harden.

After the finish was completely dry I used some Simi chrome polish to buff it out. After some hands on elbow grease the tung oil finish looks like glass now. Now the epoxy finish on the cz 82 needs to be redone. The rosewood grips look awesome on the pistol. They also offer them for other pistols and handguns too.

Hey BigBill, do you know if grips are interchangeable between the CZ82 and CZ83? I tried to convince the guys at Herrets to make grips for my 83 but no luck. I know the gals from Thailand have some skills (!) maybe they also make grips for my gun.

Yes there listed as cz 82/83 grips sorry I should of said that.

Btw the cz 82 & 83 and the 75 & 85 are epoxy painted like the FN49 & Britt bolt action rifles were too.

My cz 82, my first one has some worn areas on it. The two other cz pistols in 9mm makarov I purchased for my son's are brand new. How can you not own one for $200?

I never thought of buffing the tung oil finish on the grips.

Look at the pics of rose wood. It's the most awesome looking wood grain on the planet. I wouldn't sell my grips for $1,000.

Thanks, I found one guy that will even sand them to the thickness you like.
Be careful Some grip makers say the CZ grips are too thin and wooden ones tend to break.

Colt now says that the left hand twist of the rifling tends to tighten the barrel screwed into the frame. However they were making cap and ball revolvers with left hand twist; their barrels are secured by a cross pin inserted through the cylinder pivot.
