just want to say THANKS for all the info here it's very useful, I recently ( june) bought a 9mm shield, even knowing I might encounter issues, well lo & behold I had ejection issues 1 maybe 2 out of 100 rounds of Winchester white box ( red lettering) so tried 2 more 100 boxes thinking it might be a bad batch or something, same thing, so after reading about trying different ammo I bought 100 rounds of Remington, 2 more failures to eject, now we're up to about 6 total failures so with out getting excited I bought 100 rounds of Federal 115 grain & 100 rounds of Winchester NATO 124 grain haven't tried those yet but the Federal went thru flawlessly NO failures so I think I found the right stuff ?, I'm left believing these shields are finicky on what you feed them, maybe not all but some, so THANK YOU forum friends for your info :)

Or it could be that the gun is just now getting "broken in". ;) You might be surprised if you now try the ammo you had problems with originally. Like most machines, pistols are a bit stiff in the beginning.

Bkreutz is right. All the moving parts have to fit themselves. It is kind of like buying a new pair of running shoes. You would not buy a new pair of running shoes and then run a marathon would you. No, you would first break them in by taking small runs near you.
Just bought a new M&P AR VTECH II. Took it shooting for the first time Friday night and again yesterday. The more I shoot it the better it shoots. Right now she has between 200-300 rounds through her (maybe closer to 300) and she is running flawlessly. You could tell when the parts started fitting together, the groups just got smaller and smaller. I can safely say that the gopher on the life sized gopher target at 50 yards is totally dead.
