Today I was sitting in my nice house ,enjoying the day off, complaining about taxes, gun laws, cost of gas etc.
Went to the store and got burger, chips and booze for this afternoon. Saw a few more flags flying today than usual.
As I turned into my driveway and saw my flag flying , the flag of our nation, I realized that things are pretty good.
That somehow in our past, good men and women put things so right ,that even modern politicians havent been able to ruin it yet.

THANK YOU VETERANS!!!! DAD , U.S.N. 1941-1961, miss you.
Brother U.S. ARMY, 1966-69, Love you.
ALL the rest, THANK You, and God Bless.

I'm sitting here wondering what was going through my father-in-law's mind as he and the rest of the 29th infantry were preparing for Normandy in the next week or so back in 1944. I can't even imagine what those brave men went through at Omaha Beach.

The Parade lasts a little over an hour. It's a tradition, almost everybody who lived here or grew up here comes back for the parade.
