...was the matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The game was played in Vegas and the Vegas fans were bloodthirsty!
The Cardinals were way behind at the half, and it looked like they had tanked. And then something happened on the way to an almost certain disaster.
His name was Kyler Murray, the Cardinals' QB. He turned on the heat - big time.
Arizona came roaring back in the second half. They stopped the Raiders, and made up most of the Cardinal's deficit. On the very last second of the game, Arizona scored again - but they were two points behind. They gambled on a two point conversion. Murray looked like he was trapped deep in Cardinals territory, but he scrambled around for about 30 seconds; eluded and threw off tackles and ran over the goal line to make the 2-pointer conversion himself!! They then launched into overtime.
The ball first went the Cardinals. They blew it, and the ball was turned over to the Raiders. All the Raiders had to do was make a field goal to win all the marbles and they got in range. It looked like all the Cardinals' work would come to naught.
And then - the miracle in the desert happened. There is no joy in Vegas town tonight! Whatta game! If you can see the replay of the final minute of OT, you won't believe it. Football history was made!
