Found some black widows in our house over the weekend and had the house sprayed today. Just on the perimeter of the house I counted 46 and the death toll will hopefully rise.

I hate these evil little creatures with every fiber of my body. Glad they are gone, but I don't ever remember seeing this many at one time in years gone by...blech.

I hate 'em, too. I used to unloead trucks in VA that were carrying earthenware flower pots from GA. Those little beggers were in there and you'd have to check before stickin' your hand in a pot.

I could probably go find a dozen of the things right now.

I have gotten so I can spot their rather dislectic web style, then track them down and squish them. Another usually moves in in less than 2 weeks.

Had piles of em behind a shop I worked at worked at once. Just kinda lived with em, even though we stored parts back there. They did'nt bite me, so I did'nt squish em.

Last year my shop was infested with Brown Widows. Thinner bodies, brown with an orange hourglass and striped legs. One day I killed 30 but my average was about 10 a day a few weeks. I DO NOT LIKE spiders!

OMG, now I'm horrified. By killing these I've disenfranchised the rest. There might be 100 next month...oh the horror

Did y'all get signed legal documents from your counsel before using force against these spirates?

I would recommend a surgical napalm application. Throw gas on any web you see, and light it. There may be some collateral damage....

I say take off and nuke the site from orbit ... it's the only way to be sure.

*shudder*

I agree...an open dialog might help the situation. We have to consider the spider and his needs. After all, the spider has been disenfranchised for generations.

After consideration, I withdraw my napalm suggestion.

We should show some compassion, and reach out to them. Who knows what they would be like if we reached out to them with open arms?
After all, they come from horrible backgrounds. They are raised under houses, in barns and dilapidated outbuildings. Some are homless their entire lives, and raised outside. They come from horribly dysfunctional families, raised by psychopathic serial killer mothers who continuously pick up strange males, consort with them, and then murder them and eat the remains!
I mean, like, try a little love, people.

I know what happens to them when they reach out to me with open arms.

I am infested with them also, I see mainly males, whenever my wife sees me in the process of population reduction she protests, bringing up many of the points raised and my favorite:

“They are good boys, just trying to get their lives together.”
