I have been tossing and turning worrying about your problem of shoot or dont shoot that great gun and it came to me .I havethe perfect solution and it will make everyone happy.You send the gun to us to shoot and post range reports when I say us I mean kinda like a time share say I get the gun the first week of January 2018 ,then the next member who want to be involved gets it .Let us see say 3 days shipping 2 days shooting3 days shipping back to you for cleaning and inspecting ect then repackage and ship to next member ,ok 8 days plus I'll give you 2 no 3 days to do your part then 3 days to next member lets see that's yea perfect 2 weeks per rotation so we are looking at a minimum of 2 range reports every month and here is the kicker you can still honestly say that YOU haven't fired tne gun since you owned it .Ok guys who's with me just post a ( pick me please please pick me ) to this thread to get your name in the pot and I'm pretty sure that 357magster would be too proud and generous to take a dime for shipping expenses so hey shipping is on him ( wouldn't want to offend him ya know) .Ok so it's my idea so I'll go first and say - PICK ME PLEASE PLEASE PICK ME!!!

Oh my God! What an incredible find, and you got a bargain at $1092. However, I would shoot a cylinder full on a high quality target and keep it with the gun. (With that barrel, maybe shoot at 50 yards!)

For an additional notch on the cool-o-meter, you might want to also ask Roy if that gun was featured in the History Channel's "Modern Marvels" series episode "The Magnum".

He's seen in the episode intro, dark suit, single handed hold, raising a M29 8-3/8" with red insert front sight, wood target stocks up into firing position (but no shot taken).

Later in the episode (time index 29:42) when he is talking about the kick, and how his 9yr old daughter enjoyed shooting it... she thought it was fun, while at the same time big men were afraid of it, he is firing a different M29 with the long tube and red insert front sight.. it's scoped and is wearing Pach's.

OP here. The above post has been gnawing at my curiosity. Finally had a few minutes to watch the "Modern Marvels" episode and do a screen capture. The gun shown at 0:01 , 0:12, and 2:22 is definitely the gun I purchased from Mr. Jinks through the Amoskeag auction. The grain pattern of the left grip is the same. It's like a fingerprint. The show is about magnums ... not just .44 magnums. It is never stated that the gun in the show that Mr. Jinks was holding and firing was a 29-2, that was an assumption. So I do believe that I am now the proud owner of a "TV gun".

(The pattern of the case color hardening on the hammer is the same, too.)

Just an FYI in case you'd like to save a copy of that youtube video, there is a browser called torch, it's chrome based and basically identical to chrome but it has a built in media grabber. It allows you to download most videos on the web, works great for youtube. In the upper right corner is a blue down pointing arrow, hit that and it will download the video. Under settings, then advance settings you can choose to have it extract the soundtrack too, handy if you find a music video you like. Torch Web Browser - Your All in One Internet Browser

One tip, if there is an ad running before the video starts wait for the actual video you want to start otherwise sometimes it might download the ad. Can also happen if your on a webpage that has those ads that run automatically, just check the video when it's done downloading to make sure you got what you wanted. Doesn't work on all websites or steaming video but it works great for youtube.
