My son this year wanted to do one thing in particular, and that was to go on a cruise. Last year was the train, this year, a big boat, so, even with money being super tight, we decided to make it happen. This past Monday we took him out on Lake George on the paddle wheel steamer, the Minne-Ha-Ha. I don't think you could have more fun than that.

The diesel liner the Mohican, the oldest boat on Lake George at 111 years young, passing us by as we were on our way back in.

The largest boat on Lake George, the liner Lac du Saint Sacrement (the French name for Lake George), heading out from its berth.

We live close to there. What does a trip around the lake cost. I could look it up but I like wasting band space. :)

Looks like a good time. :)

Have you ever taken him to Americade, the motorcycle rally at Lake George? That's usually a good show that's safe for family fun.

Nice pics!

When I see vessels like those, on water like that, I always wonder if I could sneak a rod and reel aboard and do some trolling.

In about ten minutes my line would be wrapped around the paddle wheel.

My aunt and uncle were on a paddle boat that sank on the Mississippi River about 35 years ago. Talk about a ruined vacation.

That looks like a lot of fun!

Pictures are great. If you have more, please share.

I bet that made your son's day.

On Thursday nights, you can go out on cruises to see the weekly fireworks, including a dinner and fireworks cruise on the Saint.

All three boats/ships are owned by the Lake George Steamboat Company. They have a nice looking website. hardcase60

Wife's people are from Upstate NY. We attended a family wedding there at Lake George a couple of years ago, and did one of the cruises. Really nice.

Beautiful area. One day we went to the area designated as the 'public beach' for Lake George. It was the week of July 4th, and THIS native Tarheel was not prepared for how cool the water was - about 60*.
And most people on the beach were an unhealthy pasty-white that I was unused to seeing.....

I went on a cruise on the Mohegan over 50 years ago. I'm glad to see she's still in operation. Lake George is a truly beautiful place!
