I am ( now was) an original table holder at the Del Mar Gun show for many years up until about 2 yrs ago., as the show has steadily declined from show with collectable guns, etc., to a flea market show with T-shirts, glassware, beef jerky, sunglasses , cheap import knives, wholesale ammo., and assault rifles w. 50 rd magazines. No more dealers with antique or collectable firearms, to speak of. Templeton had to sell tables to almost any vendor make the show work for him, which I understand, however any monitoring of the dealers by show security to prevent sales of knives, ammo, etc to kids seemed absent, which was a death blow to the show's contract being renewed, as the "Anti-Gun" people were visiting the show and complaining to the Fairgrounds management the juveniles could get ammo , knives, etc. with no problem, among other arguments against "guns for sale" is bad image for Del Mar. Templeton shot himself in the foot, so to speak, by getting a felony conviction, as well as his son, some yrs. ago, and transferred the show management to his daughter, who has a clean record. The Templetons are, and always have been, a nice family to deal with, however. Their CrossRoads Gun shows will survive in AZ, NV, etc., I think. Some of he newspaper stories about Del Mar and the gun show are in error on the facts, as the liberal media is involved. Ed.
