I see comments about her on entertainment shows. Not watching Court TV or whatever to follow the case.
My take on her is that she's guilty.
I can't fully decide about the girl who supposedly murdered her roommate in Italy with her boyfriend's help. What's her name? I'm having a momentary blackout on it. But I think there's more than reasonable room for doubt in her case and I hope the prosecutor's appeal fails and that the US won't extradite her, if convicted. Just too much doubt.
Dang! What IS that girl's name? Aha! Amanda Knox. The brain cells just kicked in... She's just released a book or is about to. She's already spent 4-5 years in an Italian prison, as long as some true killers get. The evidence was heavily tainted due to police incomptence, and a good lawyer in a US court would probably have won her case. The trial would have been much speedier.
Based on Arias's body language and expressions and the overall analysis of her by others, I think she's a narcisstic sociopath. But I didn't grow up with her and don't know if she hurt kittens or anything like that. I do think that her claim of self defense with that much repeated violence just doesn't hold much iced tea.
Ditto for Oscar Pistorious. I think he used the cricket bat on his gal after an argument, maybe after finding another man's calls on her cell 'phone. That didn't kill her, so she took refuge in the bathroom, where he shot through the door to kill her. I think he was in a blind rage. But this is pure speculation based on TV reporting, and there may be info we just don't have. The court granted bail, so there is probably some doubt. Of course, he's a celebrity, so that may be a factor, also his being a double amputee who has to wear false legs.
I know a guy in South Africa on anther board. I'll see if they get better coverage of the case there than we've had. BTW, that fellow I know just scored a really nice blued Ruger Speed-Six with 2.75-inch bbl. and got it added to his license. Has compact Pachmayr grips. He's pretty happy with it. He PM'd me that they get most guns there, although new ones tend to be more expensive than here. Pistorious used some sort of 9mm. The media didn't say which. He claims that he woke and shot his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, thinking that she was an intruder. The evidence just doesn't support that.
