Porter Rockwell was one of the most interesting people of the Western Movement.
Gunfighter, Lawman, Body Guard to Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, suspected and accused of numerous attacks and murders.
Just saw a YouTube about his Guns. He used a number of different guns, when they came available he seemed to prefer Colt Ball and Cap Revolvers, especially the 36 Navy.
He liked to shorten the barrels.
The one that surprised me was the Snub Nose Walker Colt.
About a 4.5 pound gun, chop the barrel, maybe now a 4 pounder!

Many moons ago, I read in a gunzine that Rockwell also developed the whippet, the double bbl pistol grip shotgun, predating Doc Holliday's alleged weapon.

It's really amazing the amount of notoriety he has received for a man who could neither read nor write.

He's a distant relative of Miss Judy's. Judy, in fact, once had a ring belonging to Rockwell's wife, but it seems our three-year-old daughter lost it years ago.

Bottom line...Miss Judy is one you don't want to mess with.
