I am thinking about buying either a 21-4 or the 22 classic .45acp model. I know that these are no longer like the PR revolvers of old, but are they good pieces? Will they hold up. I look at the older pistols that have been shooting for years. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks, Bob in Texas

FIrst of all-they HAVE the lock-second-I would wxpect they would hold up as well as the old ones.
To be honest-if I want to go retro with blued N frame fixed sights, I'm gonna get an old one-the new ones are nice and all that but I just ain't gonna spend that kind of money for a new one when I can get an old one for the same if not less cost.

As far as I've seen only some runs of Airweight snubs and the new Model 40s lack the IL. That said, since metallurgy has improved over the years, I don't see any reason why a current revolver would be troublesome... Well save for those MIM parts. Or in the unlikely (but not impossible) chance the the IL does malfunction...

I have the new 21-4. I love it. Replaced the factory itty-bitty grips with a set of RB combats. It's become my "always" woods gun - supplanting my 1911 for that job, no less. Accurate, rides the recoil easily, nice clean action ... I'd absolutely buy another.

This is my 2nd 21-4 and I have also owned a 22-4. Nice guns

This one has a different look. I would like to own another 22-4 I sold my first one.
