I have a few questions regarding "the revolver" catalog.

1 - Is it correct that this catalog was used from 1905 through to 1912 with the last printing in 1909?
Yes there was the parts lists and the police models catalog forget about them.

2 - From observations I know of at least 7 different variations.
How many variations of this catalog are there?

3 - I believe "the revolver" catalog can be dated from a combination of the color of the binding string, cover lettering color, and number of pages. Is this correct?

Pictured is the black string, 48 page with black & gold lettering which from these 3 bits of information I date to 1905.
Cheers.

Thanks. What a great collection you have there.

You have answered all the questions, thanks.
1. None of these are dated after 1909 so I take that as a yes this was the last printing in 1909.
2. I need to look over your catalog details it looks like at least 1 different version to what I had. So that's at least 8 variations.
3. You have proved me wrong all but one of yours fits my dating method. Dating from the combination of the color of the binding string, cover lettering color, and number of pages I would have dated your "1908-19??" as 1909.

Cheers.

Here is the price list and the Model 1899 Military and Police Revolver flyer that came with my BLACK CATALOG #1. The 1899 flyer was folded down to the size of the price list. I'll send the supplement that was included next.

Thanks again.

I hope your notes are from your new book, if not, seriously, you need to start writing it. Put me down for a copy.

I had not seen the M&P revolver flyer thanks for posting it.

Cheers.

I have what I believe, based on measurements, page count and content arrangement, is one of the two 1905-06 catalogs in decent condition. No price list is included and this one has both red and black binding strings (perhaps re-strung?). Can anyone give me a ballpark value estimate?

Based on the one picture of the cover, it appears well used. The covers on these were very stiff. All of the examples of this catalog that I have seen have held up very well, including yours. It would price it at $150.00

Thanks, Don. The lighting was poor here this morning so I had to play around a bit with the photo of the cover to get it to present properly. It's actually in better shape than that photo shows. The second photo of the index page is a better representation of the true color and condition.

I'll get some better photos later today and try to get this in the hands of someone who collects such items. Thanks again.
