The Road less traveled...

I know how you feel. I only have 2 shotguns. One is an 870 that I use for home defense. The other is a Winchester 24 made in 1946. I have yet to wear out either. I will say this though, if I was bird hunting in Argentina and shot the high round counts common down there I would be interested in the Vinchi or a similar gun that was built for the task. I am a little slow to embrace modern firearms technology. I just recently bought a polymer 9mm S&W M&P, around 25 years after the Glock was introduced.

Seriously, Glocks work. If they fit my hand (they don't) and had a decent trigger (they don't) I would already have one. I like blue steel and walnut, but the real value of a gun is what it can do.

Get a Springfield XD-45 and don't look back! It meets all of the criteria you have stated. It is my daily companion. Mine has been 100% reliable. With 14 rds. of .45 available immediately and another 13 rds. a mag change away, I feel very well armed when it is with me.

WG840,

I'll keep that in mind if I ever move to a free state. My Para-Ord works pretty well, but I've mostly been carrying revolvers lately, because I was practicing more with them, and then I started carrying aluminum ones, and the threat level isn't very high, and . . . .

Thanks for the info.
