With my miserable graveyard work schedule, I finally got a chance a few days ago to get to a range and run my new Shield. I put about 80 rounds thru her so far and she performed as flawlessly as I had expected! This was also my CCW course/qualification day so it was a win-win! Now I'm looking forward to upping that round count into the 4-digit range!

Welcome to Shield family. It's a definite keeper and it gets better as it goes.

Thanks Smitty! Funny thing was, I wound up staying like 20 minutes after the course was finished because one of the instructors was so intrigued with my weapon that he asked if I wouldn't mind if he got to try it out a bit, as he had only heard about the Shield and never seen one yet. He was so impressed with it that I kept expecting him to make me an offer for it!

Yeah these Shields seem to be like trying to find a diamond in a pile of cow poop :) . I dont think it matter how much someone would offer me for mine. I have no complaints on my .40 and my ole lady has no complains on her 9mm. I'd have to give up my hand before i give up my Shield :D

It is an awesome gun. Fired mine (.40 ) for the first time today and it performed flawlessly... Can't be happier. I do need to pick up some Talon grips as my hands kept sweating...lol

That's funny...I just re-uped my MN permit to carry and used my FS M&P .40 for the range qualification. I had my .40 Shield with me in the same range case. The RSO saw it and also asked if I would allow him to pop off a few rounds. I said "sure"...he loved it and I left with a free hour of range time on my next visit! Win-Win.

When I picked up my Shield .40 today, my LGS owner who did the transfer for me told me that it was the first one he had seen, that he'd heard a lot about it but hadn't had a chance to handle one. I told him that I would let him shoot it any time he wanted, and a big grin lit up his face. My transfer fee underwent a sudden change, and I think we're going to get some fun shootin' time real soon. Looks like sharing some Shield time is a good way to make friends.

What has two thumbs and is extremely jealous???

^^^^THIS GUY^^^^^ (pointing thumbs at myself)

I want one so bad I can taste it. I love my FS40 and can't wait to add the shield to the family.

It took me buying and dumping the Kahr CM9 and Beretta Nano before I discovered the flawless Shield 9mm.

The only other sub-compact 9mm I would consider owning would be the Sig P938. It is also a nice firearm but it is commanding almost $700.

I have shot or owned about every major brand single stack sub-compact 9mm out there and I speak from experience when I say the Shield is the bomb.

700 rounds of cheap Walmart ammo with zero failures. 7 yards with my XS Big Dot Night sights I can punch 1 1/2 inch groups.

In fact, for fun at the indoor range I shoot off the paper clips holding the paper target to the card board backing. (Fun watching the paper target fall to the ground)

Before I replaced the stock 3 dot sights (excellent, but not for pocket conceal) I could make one 50 cent piece size hole with 8 shots at 7 yards.

I had looked into a few other similar 9mm's, such as the LC9 and the Nano, before I discovered the Shield. Really glad I waited and did more research on it before I made a purchase I was going to regret. Excellent reliability and a much more reasonable price too? Going with the Shield was a no-brainer!

I was in WalMart today to pick up some more range ammo, and the entire 9mm shelf was completely empty! They had a couple of boxes of .40 and some .45 & .380 left but that was pretty much it for handguns. I'd have guessed that the rifle and shotgun ammo would be gone (which there was still plenty of), but I guess people are stockpiling handgun ammo now too, just in case.

I was on a list and finally got a 9mm Shield. Yesterday I made it to the range and put 150 alum. Blazer and 20 Speer Gold Dot 124+p's through it with no trouble at all.

The gun performed flawlessly and I qualified with it as an off duty gun after only shooting two magazines to test it.

This one is a keeper for sure. The hype was not just hype, it really is a good gun.
