The Spirit of Stall Number One. The personal story of my username.

I just stumbled across this story of Jinglebob. As nice a piece of heartfelt writing as I've come across in a very long time. Tears come easily when reading this.

The bond between man or woman and special animals is incredibly close, and when they pass, your heart just breaks. I've cried more over special dogs who left this earth more than over any human being. When my first dog Fritz died, I was inconsolable for weeks, and I missed him more than words can say.

I've never had a horse, although I came close one time - but that's a whole 'nother story. I was truly touched, and as I read, some special names and canine faces swept through my memory.

There were:

Fritz

Rags

Vinsig

Sam

Tippy

Murphy

Anna

Bucky

... and Joe.

It's going to be a helluva party at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge someday...

I missed this post until now. I could see his horse and could feel the emotion. It brought up so many good and some sad memories of the many fine animals I have out lived.

One of my favorites was my old horse Red. He was bought out of a cattle auction where he was used in the pens moving cattle. He was old, smart, tall and a little barn sour. He was tall and I was small, so I would have to pull the saddle up on the barn door with a fence stretcher and lead him under it to saddle him. Him and I enjoyed his retirement years.

Thank You for your post.
As others have stated it brought tears to my eyes also. My first dog was a beagle puppy which I named Jingles as I got her for Christmas.
She taught me how to hunt rabbits. The posts on this thread started me thinking about all the animals I was blessed with or cared for.
Heaven to me would have all those animals.
