From family stories I've heard, Miss Lydia was generally a good friend to LEO's, I had an uncle who's father in law was a Deputy, and my uncle occasionally went with his father in law to transport prisoners, and they would stay with Miss Lydia from time to time. My uncle's take on Mr. Crews was entirely different from what has been published about him, uncle thought he was a heck of a nice guy and liked him very much.
