My favorite handgun of all time. The Smith and Wesson model 6906. Israeli police trade in that I scored for $374. I pocket carry it in a Sticky holster. What is your favorite handgun?

Three guns have been my EDC choices since the late 1980s; Beretta 92F Compact from 1988 [with a few upgrades over the years] a 3913NL [ w/flush fit 7 rd. mags] and a 1994 Performance Center Shorty-9 [PC built 6906]

All carried in Milt Sparks IWB Summer Specials

On the revolver side [woods carry] 3" 66-4 and a 60-10 .357 mag.

Hard to beat a 69xx gun for all around/general purpose handgun.
Small duty size gun, but easy to conceal IWB or OWB
12+1, but can take 59xx mags w/ or w/o a +2 adopter.

For me it fits nicely between the 3913 single stack and the Beretta Compact with 15+1 backed up w/ 18 rd mags.

My EDC

CS9 with left side only decocker. I carry it in pant pocket with a Desantis holster. I slicked internals and replaced all springs. I added a big dot Ashly Express sights. And a TerkGen custom 3913 grip cut down to fit the CS9.

I don't know if its the ultimate, but a 6906 is a solid choice.

I bought both of these during the Great Sportsmans Warehouse Rusty Gun Extravanganza a few years ago.

I used the 6906 in my most recent LEOSA qual, eliciting a "woo hoo - 3rd Gen Smith!" comment from one of the deputies running the course.

The 6904 lives in the console of my ride.

Don't own a 6906 or 3913 anymore, sigh. But there are magazines for both residing in my storage containers. Maybe another Smith 3rd gen will find me at the gun show this Saturday???

For years my favorite EDC was my S&W Model 469. It has now been eclipsed by my Sig P365XL. Not quite sure I can call either one my favorite handgun, however. Hard to nail down my favorite, but I'm sure it would be one of my top S&W revolvers.

I was previously pocket carrying a J frame air weight 38 and that was by far the best for comfort. I also have a CS9 that I could pocket carry but both of those don't have much ammo capacity when compared to the 6906. A while back in another thread, I was talking about pocket carrying my CS9, and another member here (ISCS Yoda) said that he often uses a CZ75 compact for pocket carry. That gave me the idea to try the 6906 in the pocket. This is how I do it and it works great. I use a Sticky holster in Wrangler Ranger pants that are available in the local Walmarts. There is one size that fits a little tight and one size larger fits a little loose. It is important to get the looser fitting size and wear a belt. The looser fit is more comfortable than the tighter fit anyways. It is also important to get the pants that are "Ranger" Wranglers, not the other ones that look similar. They are cargo pants but I do not use the cargo pockets. I put the gun in the regular front pocket. I also shaved a little off the pinky magazine base plate so that I can still get a good grip on it, but the gun slides in and out of the pocket better. This is just how I do it, and after a few years of trying different holsters and guns for EDC, I finally found what works best for me. I prefer the Hogue grip, it feels perfect. The gun had the delrin grip on it when I bought it, so I quickly changed it out for the better grip.
