Sorry for boring you guys with my movie reviews. We knew we were gonna get snowed in so I borrowed 4 BluRays from my nephew. This evening we watched The Wolverine.
To set the scene, it's late WWII just outside of Nagasaki Japan.
Japanese soldiers are runnung around frantically as air raid sirens scream. A B29 approaches.....
Y'all got a pretty good idea of what happens next. But the Wolverine has plans of his own.
The rest of the movie takes place in modern day Japan. The plot isn't anything especially new, but someone really put a little more thought into the script than into your typical super hero movie. There are two beautiful Japanese women, The Wolverine, and a whole pack of Ninjas and Samurai warriors. The fights are very well staged.
Some beautiful photography in Japan.
There is no lack of action. The surprise ending isn't to hard to figure. Put it all together and I highly recommend it to fans of the genre.

This plot was a little too low key for this terrific genre action film to get summer blockbuster traction, which is a shame because it's a good movie and the best Wolverine-related film to date, with the possible exception of the first X-Men film.

Smart, well made, delivers unexpected amounts nicely written and portrayed characters; felt more like an action film from the '70s than today -- which is a compliment.

I saw it as a part of a double feature at a drive in near my girlfriend's area. We weren't expecting much, and we enjoyed it. We're not into action hero movies, but we thought it was pretty decent. I'd watch it again, but probably wouldn't buy it.

Oh, man. I thought this was going to be about the Whitney Wolverene.
