They say SD's fit in M&P holsters... Not mine.

So I have read several times about how the M&P, SD and Sigma all have the unique ability to fit in holsters made for the other. I am starting to think this only applies to Uncle Mike's nylon holsters and perhaps Fobus (neither of which I will ever own). I never bought a dedicated holster for Sigma because I never carry it. I never bought a dedicated holster for my SD9 because I have several nice rigs for M&P's. Then today I thought, what the hey I will carry the SD9 in place of my M&P. Nope. Would not fit or would not fit well enough to carry. Here's the list of what I tried: G-Code XST, G-Code OSH, Safariland 6377 ALS, Crossbreed Snapslide and Cane & Derby Pardus. It would fit into my Alessi belt slide and my Galco Wraith, but it was VERY tight and would hinder my draw for sure. Anyone else have a holster that fits the SD9 and the M&P? Anyone buy a dedicated SD series holster? I suppose I could get a Galco Yaqui Slide that will fit about anything, but I don't really care for holsters that only offer minimal pinch retention.

Strange...

I have a comp tec mtac designed for the M&P in the "slide" version which is the open ended kydex and it fits my SD just fine. Good luck in your search.

Tagua belt-slide, for M&P- but like the one you tried, it was pretty tight. Wrapped SD in plastic bags, moistened and left it in the holster over night. Better, but still hard to draw, so did it again and now it's a pretty good fit. Wouldn't do that with an expensive leather holster, though. The Tagua was under $30.

I might try that with the Galco Wraith. They run about $25-30 so no big loss if it doesn't work. Thanks.

Glock Holster

My SD9 rides beautifully in all of my Glock holsters FYI. Thought I would have to buy new leather for it but thankfully no. My .02 on the subject.
