"...Commonly used and unregulated internet discussions and videos about guns and ammo could be closed down under rules proposed by the State Department, amounting to a "gag order on firearm-related speech," the National Rifle Association is warning...."

This confuses me, 'The State Department' proposing rules for in the U.S, not related to international? Thought the State Department only screwed up or screwed with things outside the US?
Is this more obfuscation by the bummer government idiots, like Treasury Dept. handling highway issues, EPA handling waterways, or maybe GSA handling schools? If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with BS!

The first is under heavy attack. The second is infringed the most. The third is gone. The fourth is almost dead. The fifth is shredded. the sixth is very limited.....The tenth has been extorted away. It is clear that none of the three branches of government really care about the Bill of Rights and further, that none have any intention of preserving, defending and upholding the Constitution of the United States.

Nah... Not a phony. I received multiple emails about it from various 2A sources. POTUS is trying to do this, as he's tried with other things, by Executive Order. Like his other Anti 2A EOs, this will also not make it.

As usual, the NRA is trying to keep gun owners scared so they will contribute more money

I disagree, they have taken most of the Constitution down now they want to remove our ability to talk about what they are doing. I feel that from now on it gets worse !

There has been no executive order issued regarding this. So far, it's only a proposal by some anonymous policy wonk in the State Department.

Well there's a hearing coming up in about a month about it, so it's not just a proposal from some wonk.

I'm guessing the article is a phony. Can't bring it up now.

No, the underlying story and proposed regulations are real. But as usual, the NRA spin on it is a most ridiculous over-interpretation designed to achieve what it's obviously been achieving: Getting people riled up.

This appears to address issues of publicizing sensitive technical data related to advanced weapons systems. It takes a rather vivid imagination to expand that into a government conspiracy against gun forums.

Maybe POTUS has the TSA using its resources to put gun forum "users" on no fly lists as suspected terrorists. This would explain their failure at the gates.
When you stop and think about it, my wise crack is consistant with the way this administration operates.
I actually heard a report today that the TSA is doing just that, expanding no fly on "layered threat levels."
