My trash pick up is Monday and Thursday early morning. Last SUnday we cleaned a bunch of fish and I put the fish viscera in the trask can late Sunday night expecting an early pick up. So..... no trash pick up Monday  None Tuesday, none Wednesday..getting really mad.:mad: Thursday comes and no pick-up-I'm livid the fish guts are stinking up the neighborhood and the wife ain't happy.
Friday they pick up the trash around noon.
Today I leave for work and no trash pick up. Call City Hall and complain give them my address.
Come home trash is all picked up but THEY TOOK MY %&^$ing TRASH CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waste Management must have the whole city coucil on the payroll for them to put up with the constantly bad service. I'm just going to take my trash to City Hall and leave it there.

Lawyers!...why blame WM - seems to me it's (as usual) a gov't problem.

Capitalist pig.

Waste Management ran my trash pick-up as well. Had really spotty service, and I got real steamed about it.

I researched just who owned the company, I was going to call him at his office for a very one sidded chat.

Then I discovered who owned the little company here in no-where Georgia (undoubtedly the same folks own your operation). All very Italian (Sicilian?) names located in N.J. and N.Y.N.Y.

I decided to just send them a nice thank you note for the great job they were doing......................................................................

I had the same problem several years ago. The city changed garbage companys & charged much too much for pickups. Went from 49 bucks a month to 59 then 69 for one can. I rebelled & went to out local discount store & bought 2 new garbage cans with lids. Take them to the landfill & cost is 8.50 for cans. Can make a trip a month & save some bucks for reloading

Fish guts go in the nearest waterway. That way they don't stink and there are creatures there that get fat off of them. Those creatures are then eaten by other creatures until they eventually get back to the creatures who made the original guts and they get fatter. Then you catch bigger fish and it starts all over again.

We have a private firm that is under contract with the little burg here. It is supposed to get picked up on Wednesday....sometimes it is Thursday....sometimes it is missed altogether because of truck break-down, staff shortages, misalignment of the planets, etc., etc.

I keep potentially stinky stuff in the freezer and put it out at the last minute. The funk that builds up in a garbage can when some stuff ripens is ferocious.

I was working at an air cargo facility in Miami. When we came in Monday morning it was very obvious where the container that they lost on Friday was. It was full of lobsters. The WM folks finally came and took it away on Thursday. That was not a fun week..........

I really feel for you. Yuck!!!

Use to have a problem with trash before I retired. Crap scattered everywhere after pickup, not just mine, the whole neighborhood.

I found out if you use a six pack of beer to hold the lid on the trash can on pick up days, it somehow dosn't get spilled. Not only that they pick up what they didn't spill.

We had Waste Management for about 15 years and paid quarterly and every quarter the bill went up, the last invoice was for $ 83.00 a quarter.

I like the concept of buying local and found out that there was a local man doing trash service, called him and inquired of his rates, he quoted me $ 54.00 quarterly, when asked how often he raises his rates he stated the last time was 10 years ago and at present he had no intentions of a increase so I requested his services.

Called Waste Management to cancel their services and the lady asked why the cancellation and I informed her of their constant rate increases and that I found a local who was $ 29.00 dollars cheaper. She then informed me that they would do it for the same price but I would have to pay annually. Told her no thanks. New service is great and it helps the local economy.

Just do what my son did several years ago. Put a bucket of fish stuff in the bed of my pickup while I was on the road for a week. Come to think of it, he did the same with some ducks. He is not so forgetful now that he has his own truck..

Just like an attorney, put the blame on some business that has deep pockets for something they did not have a thing to do with.

As I read in the lawyers on words, he cleaned the fish with help of others, none of which appears to be connected to the waste pickup company. He failed to state who caught the fish or how they were obtained, which is an important fact since he possibly bought them from another innocent business that he could blame as well for selling him fish not already cleaned.

Then he stated he placed them in a container for trash collection. How did the waste collection business contribute to his negligence yet he blames them when he has been educated enough to know that both fish and company stink after three days. The esteemed counselor should have properly disposed of the remains in a fashion that would not have been offending to his neighbors.

He obviously has a method for carrying his trash off since he is now threatening to carry his trash to City Hall and he is complaining about others not carrying his trash off.

I am fairly familar with the area where this person resides and know for a fact there are Parish dumpsters placed over the area for people to drop off their waste. There is no charge for doing this and only takes a few minutes of time.

Therefore the stink in the neighborhood of the offending party in this case is solely due to the actions of Mr CajunLawyer in the way of:

1. Either catching or buying fish that were in need of cleaning.
2. Cleaning fish in an area not zoned for such with the help of associates.
3. Failure to properly dispose of waste products even though he had the resources to do such without cost.

Dear Counselor,

Please meet me tonight me tonight behind the Bing. My associates and I look forward to working on your problem. Might I also suggest that you take some anger management classes. They have done wonders for me.

Sincerely,

A. Soprano Pres/CEO

. . . .I like the concept of buying local and found out that there was a local man doing trash service, called him and inquired of his rates, he quoted me $ 54.00 quarterly, when asked how often he raises his rates he stated the last time was 10 years ago and at present he had no intentions of a increase so I requested his services . . .

Same here - it keeps the money in the county and keeps a local entrepreneur in business.

Our local garbageman has a guarantee."if not completely satisfied get double your trash back"

Here we have local private guys. We have to put out the trash the come in the driveway and pick it up. We put it at the end of the drive because we dont want the men or truck in our yard because of the dogs.

In our last home, same town as now, we didnt pay for pick up for around eight years. Yet they would take it twice a week. They would come, open the garage take the trash and close the garage. I guess it was stealing from us but in a good way!!

The city is responsible here for once a week trash pick up. They do a heck of a good job. I can stack bags n junk next to the 2 55gal plastic cans and they take it all. I suspect if they come back with a truck half empty they may consolidate routes and lay people off. So they pick up most stuff. If I throw out a couch or fridge I call for special pick up and it's gone sometimes the same day. My argument is with the waterworks dept. that appears on same bill as garbage. They constantly leave "low or no water usage" red tags on my door. I've had to call in actual readings off the inside meter (they read outside) a million times They've replaced the meter and checked it again but they must base water usage on families around me. Here it's just me.

I used to throw a good portion of the fish offal into a heavy duty 5 gal plastic container and let it percolate in the sun. It made for some nasty smelling chum for catfish on the Colorado river. Just a few drops evey now and then was all it took.

There was one time it spilled on a guys car, but it was purely an accident after he was a jerk on the road and kept tailgating, passing and then doing it all over again. Who would know we would stop at the same rest stop. ;)

Whale hail! I'll just comment "pee-uh--eee-- yeeew..."

Lemme add, as an observation: Yuck-eee.

(And, on a practical note, put them guts in a plastic shopping bag and tie off the top before placin' in a can du garbaage in your own neighborhood. FWIW, from my Brooklyn days in the '70s, yes indeedy, private garbage services are, um, connected...)

This retired garbageman pleads "nolo contendere". As bad as the municipal system can be sometimes it still beats the private carter. "Not for nothin, ya know?"

I stopped at a pond one time to wet a line at lunch time. A guy pulls up with a really cute Sheltie too exercise him. The dog was running up and down the shore, and he found an old pile o guts from somebody cleaning and dumping there. Dog immediately jumps in the pile and rolls around. His owner asked me if I by chance had any soap. I had some goop in the van and gave it to the guy. The two of them waded into the pond and the dog got gooped. Dog came out clean enough for his ride home.

You complained about your service so now your garbage can ends up missing... hahaha. I think your next course of action to go to war with the City and Waste Management is an excellent idea, Cajun. And don't forget to curse at the collection guys if they happen to cruise by your address. I'm confident you'll get what's coming to you. ;)

There is another approach... slip $10 to the collection guys now and then... especially around X-mas or when you got something out of the ordinary you want them to handle. Waste Management never missed a pickup at my address.
